Media blasting is a process of removing stain from log, timber frame and cedar sided houses by pneumatically forcing media through a hose at high speeds. Sodium bicarbonate, corn cobs, walnut shells, pecan shells, glass and sand are just some of the materials used.

The log home industry seems to be divided on the best method of stain removal. Some companies recommend against media blasting, preferring to chemically strip, while others swear by media blasting.
