Sawtooth Log Restoration Logo

Sawtooth Log Restoration is owned and operated by Brent Brooks. He is a proud military veteran of the United States Marine Corps, serving as a Ch-46E and VH-60N helicopter mechanic.

After Brent was honorably discharged from the Marine Corps in 2001 he went to work for Wally Young, owner of The Log Home Center out of Roanoke, VA. Within a few months Brent was promoted to supervisor and stayed with Wally until his wife graduated from P. A. school. At that time Brent moved his wife to Oregon to be near his family. Brent  worked as a carpenter and framer while in Oregon. In 2004 Brent decided to take the giant step of creating his own company and began making plans to that end. Brent moved back to North Carolina to once again supervise for Wally Young, temporarily leaving his wife in Oregon.  It was a difficult time for Brent to be without his family, but it enabled him to focus on his business plans. Since then Brent's wife has been moved back to North Carolina. Under Wally's supervision and guidance Brent learned about log homes from manufacturing and sales to full on restorations. Wally and his wife Carol are Kuhn's Bros. www.kuhnsbros.com dealers and Wally has been restoring log homes for over 10 years. With Wally's help and instruction, Brent was able to organize and implement his own company.

When Brent found the area he wanted to live and work he began to network with local companies.

The first call SLR made was to Ken Williams of www.carolinaLand.com. Ken has been supporting SLR from the beginning by making many excellent suggestions and by helping it network with many local businesses. Ken and his wife Mary even found and brokered the purchase of a log home for Brent and his wife between Lake Lure and Rutherfordton. Brent and Sawtooth Log Restoration owe a big thanks to Wally Young and Ken Williams for the instant success they have achieved. Brent  also owes a big thanks to his wife for tolerating him working 7 days a week.
